Movement at AMSC

AMSC aims to meet children where they are and guide them toward increased endurance, strength, flexibility, and confidence. Time for movement helps us re-energize and come back into alignment throughout the day by relieving tension and increasing blood flow/oxygen levels.  Our movement curriculum is divided into two categories:

Individual Movement - helping us feel grounded, connect with ourselves, and tune in to our bodies.

Group Activities - helping us build strength, connect with others, and gain confidence.

Individual movement may include:

  • Stretching

  • Bear/Crab Walks

  • Yoga

  • Obstacle Courses

  • Windmills

  • Balancing Poses

  • Airplanes

  • Jumping/Spinning/Twisting

  • Catching/Throwing

Group activities may include:

  • Relay Races

  • Circle Games

  • Hula Hoop Games

  • Freeze Dancing

  • Bowling

  • Parachute Games

  • Beach Ball Games

  • Tag
