Torn Paper Art

I love torn paper art because it involves breaking something down in order to create something new and beautiful. It is a fast and fun project for all ages and abilities which requires limited supplies and provides tons of fun!

Supplies:

Multiple Colors of Construction Paper

Background Paper

Glue Stick

Directions:

 1.     Tear up the colored paper! That’s right. Just get ripping. It is completely up to the artist what size shreds to make and which colors to attack. As you shred, it can be helpful to keep colors sorted into piles or bowls.

2.     Design your art. Loosely decide what you are going to create. I love flowers for this exercise because they are beautifully irregular and colorful!

3.     Glue bits of construction paper onto your background paper to create your collage image.
